So you moms know what it feels like to be puked on in the middle of the night. This week consisted of not one but two sick 2 year-olds. Talk about laundry, we managed to go through not 1, not 2 but 3 sets of sheets in one night. So yes in order to get any sleep at all, both boys ended up in bed with mom. Dad had the “luxury” of sleeping in the guest bed and helping mom throughout the night. Now you know you’re not waking up feeling energized and relaxed the next day. But there is hope, WAKE UP and go directly to the gym!
I was feeling a little out of body so I tried a class and loved it! My body felt soooooo relaxed and energized afterward and it wasn’t a yoga class it was CORE WORX: A 30-minute class that really hones in on the torso and sling muscles that connect your upper body to your lower body. It’s ideal for tightening your tummy and butt, while also improving functional strength and assisting in injury prevention. It’ll help you run faster, play harder, stand stronger!
YES (woohoo) a class you can do in 30-minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you ask for anything better? NOOOOOOO, 30-minutes we sleepless moms can soooo get done on top of everything else.
Trust me, you’re aching, tired just plain worn out body and mind will thank you for it. When you wake up and are faced with a mountain of laundry and dried up puke from the night before, the last and first thing you’ll want to do is GET AWAY from it. Go to the gym. As fast as you can.
If you can’t make a class or your gym doesn’t offer them, there’s always chest day. So, if you’re hitting what feels like a plateau or recovering from a week of taking care of sick children, either mix it up, do some research or consult a trainer. I was hitting a plateau with my chest routine. Just wasn’t getting that burn and squeeze in the Pecs I was looking for each time. I found this great workout and found what I was looking within my 30 minute time interval. I did have to skip the last exercise to fit it into 30 minutes , but honestly my Pecs were spent by then anyway.
Here’s the link for an overdue new chest routine. Alex takes you through 5 must-do chest exercises and explains the science and reasoning behind them. Remember, chest workout are a great confidence booster as you are pushing something away from you leaving you stronger. Enjoy.

It’s so amazing how a trip to the gym and refresh you after a horrible night with the kids. You might want to just stay in bed and do nothing but that doesn’t help anything. The gym does really get you moving for the day! 🙂 Great chest exercises that I think I am going to test out. Thanks!
