Biceps and Triceps – His and Hers

March 24, 2014 by Karen Leave a Comment

Today started out as a bust.  Lots of things kept us up through the night.  One of which was an especially intense episode of BBC’s Luther we watched on Netflix. This time the kids slept great.  We didn’t.  So over coffee we challenged each other to do 200 pushups over the course of day.  I learned I could do 35 at a clip (although I had a kid on my back for a few) and Karen can do 65, likely as a result for lighter bodyweight.

I likely won’t be posting workout logs as much but we didn’t Karen and I didn’t get to workout together and also didn’t research our routines.

Here’s Karen’s Bicep and Tricep Routine for last week.  She mentioned it was blog worthy so here goes

Supersets
3 X Dips and Chin-ups (palms-in)  to Failure
4 X EZ Curls  12,10,8,6  and Skull Crushers (Same weights and reps) working up to 70lbs
4 X Incline Dumbell Curl and Overhead Dumbell Press

Here’s mine.  I had more time so there’s more volume.  I did Muscle and Strength’s Big Arm Routine

You do 5 sets of 8 reps for everything.  If you can do more than 8 than you need to increase the weight  This is meant to shock based on the article.

It felt pretty shocking by the end when doors were harder to turn.

Barbell Curls 5×8 and then 1 set of 20 reps
Incline DB Curls 5×8 and then 1 set of 20 reps
Close Grip Bench Press  5×8, 1×20
Skull Crushers 5×8, 1×20
Rope Pressdown 5×8, 1×20

Seriously good pump by the end of this one.  Alright.  I still have another 40 push-ups to finish.
