Christmas Season – Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker

December 2, 2016 by Karen 1 Comment

Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker

There are plenty of classic Christmas shows to choose from each December, but the one of the oldest is still among the very best. The Nutcracker, by Piotr Tchaikovsky, was written in 1892, but it wasn’t really all that popular until the 1960s and it is still a fixture of the holiday season.

Our kids are nearly five and although we’ve yet to take them to see it in person, they’ve loved this version or similar found on Youtube, performed by the foremost ballet company in the world.

It’s an easy way to inject a bit of culture into their life. The songs are recognizable, the musicians incredible and the dancers are amazing athletes.

Enjoy!
