Traveling with twins; The 3 Little Pigs

May 16, 2014 by Karen Leave a Comment

I know most women can’t say this, “I have a wonderful mother-in-law”.
Don’t be too resentful, I lost my own mom at 26. The least God could do is hook me up with a cool mother-in-law. Irish Catholic red headed native Philadelphian, sounds potentially scary when worded that way but she is a women I can look up to and learn from. She’s an amazing cook, thoughtful beyond words, smart, kind and The Family Anchor. She’s also very prudent and tolerant of me.
My boys adore their Grandma and I love that they have a strong bond. Grandma opens their world to Museums, the city, Zoos, restaurants, ice cream and gelato, and most recently, The THEATER!!!!
Last weekend she took us to see The Three Little Pigs at the Pitman Broadway Theatre in NJ.
It was so much fun! Being in the the theater itself made you feel like a muppet in Jim Henson’s The Muppet Show theater. Old school muppet show with Statler and Waldorf heckling in the balcony. The seats were full with miniature people accompanied with parents and grandparents, even a few birthday acknowledgements.
The play was imaginative, fun and interactive. Not too scary even though I had both boys on my lap at one point. I also got to see the excitement and wonder in their eyes. A few times the big bad wolf chased the little pig into the audience, they know kids well because when they did this they turned on the lights. My boys were so excited looking for the actors walk through the audience. They were enthralled! Plus the costume of the big bad wolf was the least scary they could make it. I highly recommend this theater experience for the littles. I was a little worried about them being too young and they did get on my lap a few times but I got to see them grow and experience something really cool with their grandma. I would do it again without reservation.
